Floor Cleaning
How to Clean Ceramic Floors
Ceramic tile floors are extremely durable and can look as beautiful as they last with proper, regular cleaning. There is no need to wax! Just follow the steps below to keep your ceramic floors looking their best.
Things You'll Need
-
Broom
-
Soft Mop
-
Bucket
-
Water
-
Dish Soap
-
Sweep floors to remove loose dust and particles.
-
Using a soft mop, mop floors with clear water and just a dash of liquid dish soap. Be sure to change the water when it gets cloudy; too much soap or dirty water will make floors dull or sticky.
-
Allow the floors to air dry or dry with a clean towel.
Tip
Our professional cleaners wash most floors by hand, cleaning and drying a small area at a time.
How To Get Rid of Clutter
If you can't put it away, it's clutter. So divide it into three groups: junk, charity and undecided.
Things You'll Need
-
Trash Bags
-
Storage Bin, Box or Container
-
Divide your clutter into three groups: junk, charity and undecided.
-
Toss all content in the “junk” group.
-
Anything in the “charity” pile should be given away or donated.
-
Store items in the “undecided” group, or bag until you can decide whether it's really worth keeping.
How To Remove Pet Hair From Upholstery
We love our pets, but can live without the hairy mess they leave behind on our furniture and carpets. Learn how to clean up pet hair with the tips below.
Things You'll Need
-
Vacuum with upholstery attachments
-
Tape Roller
-
Tape
-
To remove pet hair from upholstery, use a vacuum with an upholstery attachment.
-
Another option to remove pet hair from fabric or upholstery, try a pet rake (a brush with crimped nylon bristles), velour brush, tape roller or even tape wrapped around your hand, and apply light even strokes to remove the hair.
Tip
A "pet sponge" is a great option for both upholstery and carpets - especially at the edges, where pet hair tends to collect and vacuums have a hard time reaching. These sponges, which are used dry, are available at pet supply stores.
